This exquisite antique hand‑painted porcelain footed lidded dish dates to the late 1800s (1880s–1890s) and is likely of European, possibly Italian origin. At approximately 145–150 years old, it carries the elegance, craftsmanship, and charm expected of fine Victorian‑era porcelain.
The dish features a white porcelain base, sculpted green edges, and a matching green finial‑style handle on the lid. The lid is decorated with pink and magenta hand‑painted floral motifs, while the body displays three floral bunches framed by green lattice work. Every detail reflects the artistry of its time.
Measuring approximately 4 inches tall (excluding the finial handle) and 6 inches wide, this piece is larger than a sugar bowl yet smaller than a tureen, making it a versatile size for display or gentle use. It would serve beautifully as a candy dish, though due to its age and fragility, it should be handled with care. As with all antiques, dishwashers are not recommended.
The lid handle has been repaired, and the piece is priced more than accordingly. Despite this repair, the dish remains very usable, highly displayable, and truly heirloom‑worthy. Its age, hand‑painted details, and sculptural accents make it a standout addition to any collection of antique porcelain, Victorian décor, or European ceramics.
A lovely piece for collectors, decorators, and anyone who appreciates 19th‑century craftsmanship.
